Oh the Weather outside is...so not frightful

Who needs a "white Christmas" when it is 70 degrees outside...

It's over too soon

I have gotta say, usually by now I am ready to take the Christmas decor down and get back to normal life. But for some reason this year I really don't want to and it has nothing to do with laziness, I am really sad that Christmas is over, and feel like it was just Thanksgiving.

We did however have a wonderful Christmas one of my favorite parts was when we were reading Luke 2 and Mia informed us that the Wise Men brought baby Jesus Gold, Frankenstein, and Myrrh. Setting up the Nativity as we read proved to be a little more difficult than usual because McKinlee insisted on eating each of the characters...lol The kid is crazy

Later Mia set out Milk and cookies for Santa and took the time to make a smiley face out of the cookies and carrots and ran to the basement to tell her dad about her art work for Santa while she was gone McKinlee quietly snuck over to the plate and...you can see the story unfold...

Mia began screaming "Those are for Santa, Those are for Santa!!!" and I was laughing too hard to do anything about
it.

Tis the Season

Today we took Mia to the Nutcracker for the first time...It was so wonderful. We dressed up in our Christmas clothes went to Olive Garden for lunch, thanks Stefani, then went to the ballet. Mia was mesmerized, I don't think she blinked the entire first act. She started off sitting on Josh's lap, and soon realized I had a better seat so she moved to my lap, that lasted for about 10 minutes when she kicked me out of my seat to hers, and stole mine. She loved every minute of it...before the ballet began we let her pick out a souvenir, she chose a little sugar plum fairy ornament, then wanted to get something for McKinlee...during the intermission she decided that mom and dad need a souvenir too so she ran out and bought something for Josh, and grabbed Josh to get something for me, but it was starting again, so she waited until it was over. We have to wait for Christmas to see what we got, as soon as we got home she wrapped them all by herself. She is such a sweet and thoughtful little girl.

All evening she danced, she put on a costume and made me find the Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy on itunes and danced until she went to bed. As she went to bed she said, "the only thing that would make this day better is if McKinlee could have come too, next year." That melted my heart.

Surprisingly Josh enjoyed it too, he only fell asleep once and it was just for a few minutes...not too bad, for not being a football game. He even said, he was surprised at how good it was, and was wishes he had the talent and body of the guys, but not if that means he has to be a ballerina...lol

Light Up Night

Every year we go to Pittsburgh's Light up Night. The term night is used loosely seeing that it is an all day celebration. But we love it and go every year. This year the Kids show was bob the builder and Cinderella, a strange combo I know, and honestly Cinderella had the worst wig I have ever seen, but Mia loved every minute of it... especially because she was on the front row for the show and got to participate a little. And of course it wouldn't be Pittsburgh without bringing in the Christmas Season with Fireworks.

Favorite Christmas things

I love going and picking out our christmas tree with my kids, Mia is a joy to watch as she runs around and picks every tree in the lot, she wants our place to look like a forest, I guess we need a bigger place.

I love watching my kids decorate the tree, McKinlee was a lot of help this year

And most of all I love watching Mia make McKinlee laugh
