Introducing...

This is Yuhong he is a sweet little boy who is 3 years old, who just moved in next door. He is from Shanghai. Everyday Yohong comes over to see if my girls can play, when I get Mia off of the bus he comes with me and waits and jumps up and down cheering when he sees her. He doesn't speak English and they don't speak Mandarin and yet they don't miss a beat when they are together. I guess it just goes to show you that no matter where you are Playing, Kids and Dad's are all the same

Why We Love Daddy!!!

Because He teaches us how to skip stonesand helps us run on water
Because he lets us give him makeovers and sometimes paint his nails Because he teaches us to love Animals and how to care for them

Because he always pulls us on our sled

and helps us build Snowmen every Winter

Because he gives the best kisses

Because he holds us at the Beach when we are afraid of Crabs and Jellyfish

Because he takes us to baseball games, even though the Pirates almost always lose

He is the best horse ever
He likes to take us hiking and teach us about nature
He walks us through the sprinklers and gets really wet
He hooks up the TV in the Car when we go on long trips
He always plays the Princess Kitty when we play Princess because he is the BESTEST DADDY IN THE WHOLE WIDE WORLD, and we love him very much!

A Funny little Story

Last weekend our Young Women held their annual Spaghetti Dinner Fundraiser for Girls Camp, I got there early to prepare the food so we could feed the Ward on time, which we did. Then it was time for the dessert auction...for some reason I am always the auctioneer...I am guessing because I am the loudest and most talkative of the leaders.

I had my dear Young Woman and Friend Marissa assisting me in modeling the cakes...she was doing a great job holding the cakes...her dad came up and wanted to know about the two cakes with Strawberries...so we decided they were next. I had brought a chocolate marble angel food cake, and Sister Barb Hornby a chocolate cheesecake with strawberries on top. Marissa decided mine should be first...she grabbed mine and I began to introduce it as the cake I made...a Chocolate Marble Angel fooooooooooooooood....and We both watched in horror as the cake went tumbling to the ground and bounced on the floor. The ward began to laugh, Marissa felt horrible...I laughed and announced that it was a free for all for all the kids. Which made everyone laugh harder...I so wish somebody had been taking pictures.

On Sunday Marissa brought me a cake she had bought at the Grocery Store...she felt so bad. I am still laughing

a lot a hair and a bigger heart

Mia has been begging me to let her cut her hair short since last Thanksgiving, and I have told her over and over again that her Dance Teacher would to be happy that she cut her hair right before competition season...she would just have to wait until it was over. Last week was her last competition of the season as soon as she got off of the stage she called in my promise. So I called Peace of Eden where our good friend Liz works who in Mia's words "is her stylist" and scheduled her appointment.

Many of you know that my dear childhood friend Lisa's 3 year old daughter Gracie was just diagnosed with cancer, Mia decided that it didn't make any sense for her hair to be thrown away if there is another little girl who could use it...so she made the decision to donate her beautiful hair to Locks of Love.

I smiled as everyone in the spa came over to watch this little girl give such a generous gift...she donated nearly 12 inches.

Get away

This past weekend we took a little trip to Washington DC. The Girls had a great time playing on the D.C. Temple grounds and touring the Visitor Center, Mia told us that she can't wait until she is 12 so she can go inside too. but they were most excited to stay in a Hotel. With in 5 minutes of checking in McKinlee and managed to dump the bucket of ice all over the floor, squirt yogurt all over the bathroom vanity, and smudge the mirrors, but most of all they loved jumping from bed to bed.
The next day we went and saw some of the sites in D.C Mia loved the Lincoln memorial, both girls really enjoyed soaking their feet in the World War II Memorial, (Josh missed the no wading sign) Sadly we were too late to get tickets to ride up the Washington Monument (next time) And we walked over to the White House. The girls were great, and it was fun to see Mia, who is old enough to understand some of what the area represents, she had a lot of questions, maybe she will give up her dreams of becoming a Dentist and will follow in my footsteps and become a Historian....I hope not; Dentists, make a lot more money, and I plan on her taking very good care of Josh and I.

My Week!

Between Poop and Pee, spilt poop and pee, (thank you McKinlee) Toddler multi-day meltdowns, infant daily meltdowns...kids still struggling to get back on Eastern Time...McKinlee discovering people put gum under tables at restaurants...Mia and McKinlee fighting, Josh working long hours which included his day off, catching a head cold, and no sleep I am lucky it only got this bad... I am just glad I was only going to get Mia off of the bus when it happened and not going somewhere more important. And I wish I would have figured out why I was limping before I got to the bus.
