The Best Day Ever!
Ever since my Friend Sarah told me about the Water Stairs down town I have been dying to take the girls there to play. Josh and I decided that yesterday was the day; and to make the most of the $10 event day parking, we would do something for every one and go to a ball game and concert too.
The girls had a blast at the Water Stairs, they waded, splashed, tried to float in the nearly 1 foot of water. Mia practiced her Model Poses, and McKinlee had a blast climbing the water cascading stairs. I can't believe we haven't been coming her for the past 5 1/2 years that we have lived here! After the Water Steps we stopped at McFadden's for a quick bite to eat, then we went to the Pirate/Padre's game. Steve Miller sang the Star Spangled Banner and threw the first pitch...

After the Water Steps we stopped at McFadden's for a quick bite to eat, then we went to the Pirate/Padre's game. Steve Miller sang the Star Spangled Banner and threw the first pitch...AWESOME! Other than a few innings that destroyed the Pirates it was a pretty good game, much better than the score 8 to 2 would lead one to believe. There was a rain delay during the 8th inning, it brought some much needed cooling relief (the temp was 100 with 70% humidity) After the game ended the "real" reason we spent an entire afternoon/evening in that kind of weather began the STEVE MILLER BAND concert! It may make me sound old, but there is nothing like watching a great band play and sing classic songs, even if they are in their 60's. Then the rain came back, the event staff tried to get Steve Miller stop the concert but he refused, he said as long as the fans were there he was going to play...that is until the lightening started...then he didn't have a choice. We gathered our thing and walked back to our car in the rain. The girls loved it. We got home around 1am soaked to the bone and smiling ear to ear. There is nothing like making memories that everyone loved equally.

To help or not to help
Everyone knows that McKinlee is a big helper, she is the kind of kid who usually puts her toys away, helps clear the table, and points out any mess someone else makes. She loves to help wash the dishes and cook, sometimes she combines the two.
Today was quite the day with my little helper, she spilled cranberry juice, which she tried to clean up, she broke a glass which Mia and I cleaned up, but she did put a band aid on my toe after I stepped in some..
Later this evening she helped me make some brownies, McKinlee served the brownies while I poured the glasses of milk, and one juice. (McKinlee asked for juice) We sat down Josh, Mia and I each took a large gulp of milk, I thought to myself this tastes wrong...Mia said "Yuck" and Josh said it tastes like Dill. So I went and pulled out my milk looked inside and saw...nothing...so I looked at the bottom and there was something green hovering over the bottom...so I poured the milk out to find.......a sprig of DILL WEED!!! McKinlee had gotten into the fridge pulled out my fresh dill, put a sprig in the milk, put the herb away...the lid back on the milk and closed the fridge. She laughed and laughed at us...personally I still feel a little sick. Nothing like dill flavored milk to ruin an appetite.

Blink of an Eye
Today my Dear Friend Kate took Mia and McKinlee for the day, so they could get out and play since I am still on the not able to chase the girls around list, the girls love to play with her girls so it was perfect. I enjoyed a lazy day with Wynter that included the two of us taking a nap. When Kate brought the girls back this evening she smiled at me and said, "McKinlee is quick, she found my shampoo, and bathroom cleaner....she also found my hair cutting scissors that were in a bag on the third shelf...and...I found a lock of hair by her side, but couldn't find where it came from."
Sorry Kate, let me know what kind of shampoo and bathroom cleaner you use :D

Small Milestone
It's that time in every baby's life where Mom happily pulls out the camera and beings a paparazzi style photo shoot while feeding, Wynter had her first "real" food. She loved it, she opened wide and didn't fuss or really spit it back out at all. Mia and McKinlee begged to have turn feeding her which Josh and I happily obliged, they weren't fast enough for little Wynter, the child was more than 15 lbs at her last appointment so few things are fast enough for her, so she began to do it herself.... now she looks forward to her cereal feedings and gets inconsolably grumpy if she hasn't had them by 6 pm...haha

A hero named Mia
Yesterday, after Mia's swim lessons, we decided to stop at the park and let McKinlee run off some of her energy, Mia and McKinlee ran and played together until, McKinlee declared she was hungry and it was time to leave.
So we did, as we were walking back to the car I took a bad spill and sprained my ankle, I dropped Wynter who luckily was secured in her car seat, and Mia and McKinlee ran and tended to her and yelled at me for dropping her, until Mia realized I was hurt.

So I did what any Mother alone at the park would do, I bucked up picked up the car seat, asked Mia to take care of McKinlee, and hobbled back to my car. When we got home I quickly made lunch for the girls and began to "RICE" my ankle.
That is when Mia stepped up and took charge, she couldn't find the ice so she grabbed bags frozen veggies, watched the clock and changed them out every 15 minutes. She got me some ibuprofen, and cleaned up lunch. I went upstairs to get Wynter and McKinlee to take a nap, Mia followed and continued her treatment, bringing me a drink and a snack for her sister, she even offered to let me choose what we watch because I was hurt and they could go one day with out cartoons, I choose to watch Sprout, Mia stayed with us until the babies and myself fell asleep, then she went downstairs and read a book and watched tv until I woke back up.
When McKinlee needed to go potty, Mia took her to the bathroom and helped her, she did flush the wipes down the toilet but seriously a 7 year old helping her 2 year old sister go poop, I am not going to complain at all! Then I went downstairs, Mia helped McKinlee make it down and went back up to get Wynter as soon as she was up. She continued taking care of me, fluffing pillows, keeping my leg comfortable and iced until Josh came home around 4:30, did I mention that this whole ordeal started around noon?
I am so proud of my Little Mia, she truly is my Hero
