Jewlery sort of...

Mia has mouth bling...at least that is what I am calling them. It sounds a lot nicer than mid-evil looking metal mouth torturer, that they are. Being a thumb sucker when she was little we knew this day was coming, when the Dentist recommended that we take her to the orthodontist, Josh and I began to look at our finances. When we took her to the Orthodontist (Dr. Troy) to get the first assessment, and she said lets put them on this month. Josh and I said but she hasn't lost all of her baby teeth. Dr. Troy said, that doesn't matter anymore, if we fix it now it will cost you a fraction the money and she only has to wear them for a year, if we wait for the baby teeth to fall out out it will be two to three times as much and she will have them for two to three years. So we said, PUT THEM ON!
So far it has been a little emotional for her, she loves the attention she is getting from them. But turning the expander has brought some tears. Now I am teaching her how to do it herself, I figure there is a mental difference between Mom doing something that hurts me, and I am doing something that hurts. It has helped a lot. One week down 51 to go.

It's hard to believe Easter is over, here is a little of what we did. We had our annual Easter Meaning Egg hunt and had the kids watch this, this is good too.

Fit for a Princess

Fairy Wands...check, Jeweled crowns...check,
Princesses...Double Check.
When McKinlee told me she wanted a birthday party this year, I wasn't too excited about it. I really wanted to have a family outing to the Children's Museum or something. Then she told me she wanted a Princess Party...Ugggg. I tried to talk her into a Pirate Party or a Robot Party, but there was no persuading her...she wanted a Princess Party at the park. Thankfully Pleasant Hills has the perfect playground for such a party, The Castle Park! It made my life a lot easier. She had a blast, and I just had to plan food and favors!
Happy Birthday McKinlee, We Love You so much.
Our favorite things about McKinlee: She is always doing gymnastics. She tells every one that she iis Ryken's favorite sister, she puts her arm around anyone she is by, and the number one favorite thing about McKinlee, her big tender heart! Love you little bear!
